One of my goals last year was to catch twelve new species of fish. Here are the new ones I caught...
- Sharpsnout Seabream (Diplodus Puntazzo)
- Redlip Blenny (Ophioblennius Atlanticus)
- Tadpole Fish/Lesser Forkbeard (Raniceps Raninus)
- Twaite Shad (Alosa Fallax)
- Barbel (Barbus Barbus)
- Goldfish (Carassius Auratus)
- Shubunkin (Carassius Auratus)*
- Boxlip Mullet (Oedalechilus Labeo)
- Brown Comber (Serranus Hepatus)
- Blue Orfe (Leuciscus Idus)*
- Bullhead (Cottus Gobio)
- Fifteen Spined Stickleback (Spinachia Spinachia)
- Nine Spined Stickleback (Pungitius Pungitius)
*Technically speaking a shubunkin is the same species as a goldfish and a blue orfe is the same species as an ide in the same way a blue trout is the same species as a rainbow trout or a common carp is the same species as a mirror carp. Just doesn't seem right to lump them together somehow so I'm including them as a new species.
